Old Fashioned
The Old Fashioned stems from an era in American history that takes the drinker back in time to before the Prohibition. Often named "the Original," this cocktail is a ritual when sitting in an old leather armchair smoking a smooth cigar. This Old Fashioned recipe pays tribute to how it was done back in the day, bourbon whiskey, a sugar cube, orange zest and bitters.

Method
Place the sugar cube, simple syrup and bitters into a rocks glass. Place the orange zest white side up into the glass and muddle until sugar is dissolved as much as possible.
Add ice cubes and bourbon to glass and stir for 2 minutes to appropriately chill and dilute, then serve.
